The successful candidate for this role will need to be a pro-active "team player" who is conscientious and hard-working, who actively plays their part in continuing to make Falmouth University a great place to work. Alongside these core qualities, you'll have solid DevOps and systems administration experience, with strong technical and IT skills. Previous experience working in an education environment would also be desirable.
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- Solid working knowledge of Linux system administration, including RHEL-based and Debian-based distributions, in a DevOps/server environment
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, and modern deployment strategies
- Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Bash) for automation and tooling
- Experience supporting enterprise IT operations, including computer management and software deployment
- Strong experience with version control systems, particularly Git, including branching strategies, conflict resolution and problem solving
- Excellent communication skills, exemplifying patience and understanding of students' higher education journey
- A commitment to continuous professional development, with a drive to learn new skills, software and techniques
