Caretaker

The Facilities Team at FXPlus are seeking to recruit a full-time Caretaker to join our friendly, close-knit team at FX Plus’s Penryn and Falmouth campus.

 

You will be providing a high-quality caretaking service to support staff, students, public and visitors alike. The caretaking department is responsible for a variety of duties to ensure the campus buildings and surrounding areas are maintained to a high standard, and the student experience is fulfilled.

 

These duties include waste and recycling management, porterage duties, daily external cleaning tasks and driving the company vehicles. You will be working on campuses that are full of creative minds, set within beautiful, vibrant grounds.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, hardworking, friendly, and with an aptitude for great customer service. You will be able to work to deadlines both within a team and independently, with a keen appreciation of working to a high standard whilst adhering to health and safety requirements.

 

This is a varied and exciting role, where you will enjoy working with many different teams including, academics, staff, students, and visitors alike. Therefore, you must have great communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people. You should have a customer focused background and be prepared to work within a busy and physically active role.

 

You must hold a full, manual driving licence.

 

Although not essential, experience with waste management and general caretaking duties would be welcomed, as well as a knowledge of health and safety guidelines.

This position is offered on a permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week contract.

 

The working hours will be 0700-1500 or 1200-2000 each week, which will be on a rota basis. You will be required to work 1 in 5 weekends.
